DISCOVER your opportunity In this role you will support the Senior Pricing Actuary, Global Property and help them support the Head of Pricing, Global Property and the Global Property CUO. We are seeking a high calibre senior analyst, part qualified actuary or data scientist with relevant experience to ensure AXA XL remain a leader in the field of property technical pricing and portfolio management. The successful candidate will be highly driven, excited about working with complex datasets and has proven track record in developing predictive models that can help enhance AXA XL’s technical pricing capabilities. What will your essential responsibilities include? • Help drive appropriate consistency in pricing and portfolio analysis across AXA XL Global Property, Energy and Construction portfolios • Global Property Analytics including frequency and damage ratio analytics for global perils • Global Property Rating algorithm review, development, documentation and maintenance • Support AXA XL’s Property Initiatives and implementation of technological changes to improve technical pricing and portfolio optimisation capabilities • Assess impact of global pricing algorithm changes • Liaison with ERM and Natural Perils team re Pricing algorithms and accumulation measurements • Work closely with the Geospatial Underwriting team on use of geospatial analytics within pricing models • Determination of target profit loads by peril in conjunction with Capital Modelling • Development of expense loading algorithms for property business • Global Property MI and support for Global Property CUO and Leadership team • Property pricing reports development and maintenance SHARE your talent We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: • Qualification level – Part qualified actuary, or equivalent statistical, data science or other quantitative qualifications. • Proven experience in non-life property insurance pricing or analytics, including knowledge of natural perils pricing is preferred, but not necessary. Will consider candidates from personal and commercial insurance lines with similar experience or with exceptional data analysis and modelling skillset. • Good working knowledge of multi-variate modelling and ability to articulate the pros / cons of factors that have the most impact on their predictions is a key requirement. • Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate or handle large datasets. • Significant experience in using R, Python, Shiny apps, SQL, Qlikview or other programming languages in a commercial environment. Experience in developing R Shiny applications is preferred. • Active interest to use data visualisation tools to effectively convey results or information without distorting facts. • Have good understanding of catastrophe modelling platforms and know how to interpret, interrogate or use outputs. • Detail oriented, but also need to appreciate the real world vagaries associated with insurance, third party data and the keys to their successful usage at an enterprise level. • Experience in implementing and using data science approach to non-life insurance pricing, including a working knowledge of machine learning algorithms would be advantageous, but not necessary. • Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure as well as delivering to deadlines. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and part of a team. • Strong verbal communications skills to gain buy-in to communicate clearly and concisely with internal and external clients. • Excellent written communication skills. • Strong collaborative work ethic.
