Salary: Year 1 £13,000, Year 2 £14,250

Length of Apprenticeship: 2 years

The Role

As part of the Tata Steel Facilities Administration Apprentice Scheme you will have a unique opportunity to gain a broad experience across the diverse areas of the Facilities function. Your time on the Apprentice Scheme will be spent mainly in Port Talbot, with some travel to other sites may be required

During the apprenticeship programme you will follow a rotation plan, gaining commercial knowledge and experience across Facilities. You will have the opportunity to work closely with front line Engineering and Manufacturing colleagues as part of a team finding commercial solutions to real world challenges and problems.

Working in the Facilities department you will be part of a team that will support you, drive you forward and challenge you to get the best out of your skills and talent. We want you to be the best you can be.

During the 2 years of your apprenticeship you will study towards a Level 3 in Business Administration.

The Candidate

You’ll need to have 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including English Language, Maths and Science) at Grades A* - C or level 4 - 9

In order to be considered for this position, you must be able to provide during the selection process evidence of the qualifications specified.

The Seafarer Health Advisor is an exciting and varied role that will take on the challenge of supporting all aspects of medical administration relating to seafarers, case management activities for seafarers who are on medical leave and support seafarers during the medical process, including medical leave, return to work and obtaining medical certificates.

Accountabilities include :
• Support the non-medical follow up of medically disembarked and sick on leave seafarers including liaison with third party providers and manning agents.
• Provide status information to enable HR functions to manage seafarer availability.
• Monitor and manage Seafarer Health shared email accounts.
• Manage queries from seafarers.
• Support the activities of the Senior Manager and Consultant, Seafarer Health as director
• Provide admin support to the team
• Respond to emails in a timely manner

For at least two days a week, you’ll be based out of our fantastic offices in the heart of Southampton, less than two hours from central London. In our hybrid working environment, you can also expect to balance this with time spent working remotely every week.

• Experience in an administrative role
